By Mrs. Aizawa Rutsuko
In March 2009, I was invited to attend Gerontology international Synthesis Conference at Andhra University in Visakhapatnam , India . I stayed at Lebenshilf school & home for mental deficiency children from 4 to 53 years old; 140 students and 40 staffs .I was invited in Navy's special school .too. IMG 057 - 0576 is in that school. Both teachers joined my workshops and enjoyed much more than kids . Person -centered Expressive Arts is for teachers , caretakers & mothers more than children themselves. Children are really creative creatures if they are not interrupted by adults ,so by that meaning , teachers guidance & activities are important .All people include mental deficiency children have their inner world . Through this collaboration ,teachers were aware of children's creativity was not inferior than adults . The teachers found they could enjoy doing ARTs.
